Welcome to our new Blog!! After a number of weeks assessing the process by which we communicate with you, we have decided to set up our own Blog. Why are we excited about this? Well, it means that that we can interact with you and hear what you like about our content. Also, you can give us your ideas about what you want to read and see here in our news section on our site.
We will be adding back issues of our newsletter to the archives of the blog, and plan on bringing you product reviews and updates in between our fortnightly email newsletter.
If you want to have instant notification of when a blog entry or comment has been made, you can subscribe via our RSS Feed. An RSS Feed defined by Wikipedia, is:
RSS is a family of web feed formats, specified in XML and used for Web syndication. RSS is used by (among other things) news Web sites, weblogs and podcasting. The abbreviation is variously used to refer to the following standards:
- Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)
- Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91, RSS 1.0)
- RDF Site Summary (RSS 0.9 and 1.0)
Web feeds provide web content or summaries of web content together with links to the full versions of the content and other metadata. RSS, in particular, delivers this information as an XML file called an RSS feed, webfeed, RSS stream, or RSS channel. In addition to facilitating syndication, web feeds allow a website’s frequent readers to track updates on the site using an aggregator.
What this means is that you can download what’s called a Feed Reader and have instant updates to your PC without worrying about spam and other unwanted emails. You only get delivered an update if there is one, and you have complete control over when and how you access the info.
You can grab a free feed reader here:
http://www.feedreader.com/download
I have used this tool, and find it very easy and simple. No complicated buttons, set up or anything else. Once you have downloaded the reader, follow these steps:
1. Open the Reader
2. Select File - Add Feed
3. Copy this URL into the text box - http://businessplanningmadeeasy.com/news/feed/
4. Select Next. The program should complete the rest.
That’s it. Every time you want to check this blog, or any blog for that matter, you can open up the program, and it will automatically download the latest updates so you can read them from your computer without having to do anything else. How easy is that?!
If you have any other feed services you use already, simply click on the appropriate feed button to add it to your list (eg Google Reader, My Yahoo, etc).
Enjoy!
